EVALUATION AND ASSESSMENT

The school follows continuous comprehensive evaluation strictly as per the guidelines issued by the CBSE for assessing the scholastic and co- scholastic areas of teaching learning process. To take care of student’s pace of learning, the assessment is done at reasonable intervals to bring continuous improvement in the performance of the students.

SCHOOL TERMS

The school’s academic calendar has been divided into two terms.
I Term: April - September
II Term: October – March


Each term has two Formative and one Summative assessment.
I Term (April to September)


Formative Assessment - I (Based on Class Tests, Assignments, Worksheets, MCQ’s, Quiz etc.
Formative Assessment - II (Based on Class Tests, Project Work , Surveys, Group Activities , Group Discussions, Seminars, Research – Theme Based Concepts, Science Practicals , Maths Lab Activity etc.)

Summative Assessment - I [Pen paper test (written)]

Formative Assessment III

(Class test ,Group Discussions, Debates, Declamation, Word Play, Group Creative Writing, Role Plays, Vocabulary Quiz, Mathemagic Activities, PPT, Programming, Animation etc).
Formative Assessment - IV (Class test, Worksheets, Assignments, Matching Quiz, Cryptogram, Mapping Worksheet, Crossword Puzzles, Science Practical, Maths Lab Activities (VI – IX)etc.)

Summative Assessment - II [Pen paper test (written)]

Grades are allotted in the report card based on a nine point scale which is appended below.

CO-SCHOLASTIC AREA evaluated in Co-Scholastic Area such as –

a) Life Skills (Thinking, Social and Emotional Skills)
b) Attitudes and Values (towards Teachers, School Mates, School Programme, Environment and Value Systems)
c) Literary and Creative Skills Scientific Skills, Aesthetic Skills
d) Health and Physical Education
All these evaluations in Co-Scholastic Area will be reflected as grades.

PROMOTION POLICY

1. For promotion to next class, students (IX - X) have to obtain qualifying grades (D & above) in three compulsory subjects and any two languages, English being one of them

2. The student must fulfill the minimum 80% attendance criteria to be able to sit for the Final Exam(SA2).

3. A student absenting himself / herself from SA1 or SA2 examination will not be re-tested or re-examined. He/She shall lose the credit for the same in the cumulative assessment, which may affect his promotion to the next class.

4. If student is failing in one or two subjects then the student must clear a Re-exam in that subject to enable him / her to be promoted to the next class i.e. the student must get at least a D grade.
